Michael "Mike" Matei is an executive producer for Cinemassacre Productions. Him and James have their own series, James and Mike Mondays , where they review various types of video games. Years later, we were working on an AVGN episode called Game Glitches”. Sorry, no info about the next episode of The Angry Video Game Nerd is available yet.

I can understand not liking puzzle games, but Zelda gives people a unique puzzle-solving experience that can't be found anywhere else. Here at , we take videos seriously, so when it came time for us to determine what videos would do a lazy day justice, we had some pretty stringent parameters.

Vesti opinion time: Mike Matei. The Zelda CD-i games are up there. Once you finish this series and watch the AVGN Movie, make sure you watch his commentary and behind the scenes video. The Angry Video Game Nerd (abbreviated as AVGN, and originally known as The Angry Nintendo Nerd) is an American comedy retrogaming web series, created by and starring James Rolfe.

The AVGN goes back to the past to bring you Back To The Future, playing the NES game based on the movie. In his analysis of the show and the character, writer Alex Carlson of Hardcore Gamer, dubbed Rolfe's character as "The Nerd Who Changed Gaming Culture Forever".

Matei returns in 2016's The Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures 2: ASSimilation who unlike the last game isn't a playable character this time instead is serves as the guide for the tutorial level after being saved by the Mike Matei Nerd after he was defeated in his enemy form.

Soon, Rolfe released a review of The Karate Kid game which was the first episode where Rolfe's character is introduced as The Angry Nintendo Nerd.” Naming these videos The Angry Nintendo Nerd Trilogy”, Rolfe posted them on Cinemassacre. Rolfe's review of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game was reported in an MTV segment called "Viral Videos Infect the Mainstream".

Mike: Up until episode 100 of The Angry Video Game Nerd , I did title cards to appear at the end of the intro. He told me he probably wouldn't have the time (since he was so involved with producing AVGN) but if he did, he always wanted to review all the Godzilla movies.

Second, I have so many videos to edit for the website, I don't have time to be spending half a week drawing a title card that only appears for 2 seconds anyway. The movie was also created as a homage to the Nerd finally reviewing one of the worst videogames of all time; E.T. During filming the movie, Rolfe had to balance his schedule with the ongoing show.

Matei is the editor for James & Mike Mondays. Hell yeah man,I love these, and I also like that game Magic Sword,I got that one on Snes still. And one thing we love about the Cinemassacre site is that alongside the AVGN reviews, James Rolfe and Mike Matei also have done numerous videos discussing movies and B-movies in particular, most notably in their annual Monster Madness review series.

For Cinemassacre, I edit Monster Madness , which is 31 reviews in the month of October. Although Zelda was the overall theme of the interview, I could tell that Mike genuinely loves gaming in general. The AVGN reviews Tiger Electronics LCD games, Tiger Electronics wrist games, , and R-Zone.
